How to Wear Christmas Jewellery with Class

There’s something about Christmas that means that anything goes. Dazzling colours, sparkle and shine and a certain over-the-top abundance that doesn’t happen at any other time of year. But many people still draw the line at Christmas jewellery.

If you’d like to add a touch of the festivities to your accessories, however, you can certainly do so with style. Christmas jewellery doesn’t have to be bold and brash and over the top if you don’t want it to be. Here’s how to add some Christmas class to your jewellery:

Think about the Occasion

Just as when you choose jewellery for any occasion, think about what you’ll be wearing and what type of event it is. If it’s a formal cocktail party or corporate event, something bold and bright isn’t necessarily appropriate.

For a formal event like this, it’s best to add sparkle which isn’t necessarily Christmas themed in itself. For example, add sparkly drop earrings and a matching bracelet. The glitz in these items will be festive enough to adorn such an occasion.

In contrast, if you’re going to a casual event, too much sparkle isn’t necessarily the way to go. Instead, for a casual occasion, opt for a contemporary, fun piece of jewellery. Acrylic pieces are fashionable at the moment, and would afford you the perfect go-to piece for a casual Christmas event.

Less is More

As with most things in life, when it comes to Christmas jewellery, less is more. You can easily get carried away, and before you know it you’re looking like the fairy on top of the Christmas tree! With this in mind, choose just one piece of jewellery to swap for holiday jewellery: perhaps a pair of subtle earrings in a Christmas shape, or a small pendant on a necklace.

Stick to One Colour

There’s a temptation with Christmas jewellery to go to town with the colour. However, this is a sure fire way to overdo things! A good rule if you want to keep things classy this Christmas is to choose one colour and match all of your jewellery pieces to it.

How about ruby red pieces, or perhaps emerald green? Then wear this colour throughout. You could even have something made bespoke for you, which would make it classier still if you included just a hint of something Christmassy rather than an all-out obvious Christmas piece.

Reflect your Style

This is the best piece of advice we can give you when choosing Christmas jewellery. If your usual style is understated, then choosing garish Christmas pieces is never going to make you feel comfortable. Instead, why not go for something understated, like a Christmas brooch? This is both classy and adds a little bit of something special to your festive wardrobe.

Alternatively, if you’re a bold personality, then feel free to go all out!

No matter what your Christmas style may be, you’ll be able to find pieces that suit your personality at E.K. Jewellers where there are plenty of classy Christmas pieces on offer this festive season. Whether you’re seeking jewellers in Woodford, Ilford or Loughton or anywhere nearby, pop by the Hainault shop and take a look to see what pieces jingle your bells this Christmas!
