Jewellery Trends Autumn/ Winter 2019/ 2020

Autumn is well and truly underway, and with the cosier evenings and warm knits comes our desire to change up our autumn – winter jewellery collection ready for the cooler months ahead. After all, what better way to inject something fresh into the closing months of the year than by accessorising your cold weather wardrobe with something new?

Here’s your latest jewellery inspiration for autumn/winter 2019/2020 from your local independent jeweller.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings are back in for this autumn and winter. The bigger the better seems to be the trend on the catwalk, and they look great with a chunky roll neck sweater!  Whether you go for long, oversized earrings, strands of dangling earrings or even a pair which is mismatched is up to you. Why not visit your local jewellery shop to see which oversized earrings will suit your style?

Colourful Autumn

Colour has exploded all over the catwalk this autumn, and not necessarily in the usual autumnal tones you would expect. A vast amount of hot pinks, bright blues and striking greens have been seen in the world of fashion, and this is translating into coloured jewellery too.

Many jewellers are therefore stocking bright gemstone pieces, often in oversized, statement pieces, ready to add some colour to those cold, dark evenings. Alternatively, if gemstones aren’t your thing, perhaps boho is? If so, there has been a huge trend towards vibrant folk inspired fashion jewellery which may suit your autumnal style.

Punky Inspiration

Punk inspired jewellery has also taken centre stage this autumn, with the classic safety pin making a reappearance in many jewellery pieces. If this style isn’t for you, ask your jeweller about softening the punk look to make it more wearable, but with a punky feel. For example, if you have multiple ear piercings already, switching your usual small studs into hoop earrings will instantly change up your look into something a little edgier.

Similarly, chokers are big in punk fashion, but are equally wearable as part of a softer overall look. They have also been in fashion again for a while, so why not look to incorporate a plain choker as part of your autumn/winter jewellery wardrobe?

Crystal Clear

All that glitters is the autumn/winter jewellery trend! Crystal and rhinestone jewellery is in at the moment, particularly in the form of those aforementioned statement earrings. Long strands of chandelier earrings are definitely going to be seen during the party season ahead, the more twinkly the better!

If you’re ready to embrace this year’s trends for autumn/winter jewellery, then look no further than E.K. Jewellers, Ilford. We will help to inject some or all of these trends into your autumn wardrobe to update your look for the coming months.
