Make a Statement in Autumn and Winter 2015

One of the key trends for Autumn/Winter 2015 is the statement piece of jewellery. It’s easy with our winter wardrobes to overlook the need for jewellery. After all, when you’re covered head to toe in several layers to try to keep out the harsh British elements, why jazz those layers up with jewellery? But in actual fact, statement jewellery can do just that.

If you wish to make a statement as the temperature drops, here’s some advice from EK Jewellers’ Ilford experts:

Chunky Knits

A chunky knit with a high neckline is ideal for a statement necklace. If your jumper is plain, then bigger really is better! You can’t go far wrong with something really bold. Just make sure that the metal or gem stone colours either match the colour of the wool, or contrast with it completely.

Similarly, if you’re wearing a chunky cardigan open over a simple tee, a statement necklace will instantly jazz up the overall look.

Winter Coats

If you’re going somewhere where you’ll predominantly be outdoors – such as a fireworks display, or Christmas market – your coat will do most of the talking. But this doesn’t mean that you can’t accessorise.

A chunky cuff will look great with the contrast of a smart woollen coat, whereas the on-trend Parka style jacket works well with long strands of necklaces peeking out from just above the zip line.

The Blouse or Shirt

A blouse or shirt layered with a fine knit jumper is a great look for the office in winter. However, if you want to take it from day to evening wear, why not add a detailed beaded necklace underneath the shirt’s collar but over the jumper to create some interest?

Blazers

Blazer jackets instantly smarten up an outfit with jeans, but you can add a twist on this classic look. Why not try the statement watch as a bold but chic look?

We suggest something with a wide band and a large face; a timepiece which is almost masculine in its look and feel. Something a little different just visible below your cuff will add a different take to your look!

Whatever statement you wish to make this winter, you will be in safe hands with a visit to EK Jewellers, Ilford.
