Plan the Perfect Christmas Proposal with the Perfect Piece of Jewellery

Christmas is such a romantic time of year. Long walks in the crisp winter air, hot chocolate and mulled wine, cuddling up in front of the fire, all of the pretty lights twinkling. These things combined makes for the perfect backdrop for the perfect proposal. But what about the perfect piece of jewellery to go with it?

If you’re not sure how to go about proposing, or what type of ring you should choose, you’ve come to the right place! Here are a few creative proposal ideas, and some suggestions for the perfect ring to go with them.

Mistletoe Kisses

This is a simple idea that doesn’t take much planning; it’s also a great proposal if you want to do something privately, just the two of you. Choose your ring, and then tie it to a sprig of mistletoe. When you ask your partner for a Christmas kiss, tell them to look up and they’ll see the ring dangling!

This works well with a traditional ring. There are plenty on the market to suit all budgets. If you don’t want traditional diamond but would still like something traditional looking, why not take a look at the DiamondDust range?

Advent Calendar Surprise

With so many beautiful reusable advent calendars available nowadays, with a little forward planning this proposal is straightforward to do, but has a touch of wow factor about it.

Choose a reusable advent calendar – or if you’ve feeling particularly creative, make one yourself – and then fill it with little gifts. Opt for a range of items, from the comical to the edible and romantic bits and bobs in between. Then, on Christmas Eve, make sure your chosen ring is in the last advent slot. A Christmas Eve proposal is a little less cliché, which will give the element of surprise, too!

Such a well thought out proposal needs a beautiful ring to finish on. There are plenty of beautiful and unusual rings available. How about a large solitaire diamond? Or alternatively opt for the wow of a larger stone surrounded by a halo of tiny stones. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s something that your partner will love.

Tree Presents

If you’d like to design something bespoke for your partner or are not sure of their style, why not propose with a diamond rather than the full ring? You could invest in a diamond you could later have set into a ring band once you’ve decided on the perfect design.

An idea for proposing in this way is to buy a clear, empty bauble designed to be filled yourself. Nestle the diamond on some beautiful fabric, or in amongst some fake snow, and hang it on the tree. Ask your partner to look for a surprise on the tree on Christmas morning, and then make sure you’re down on one knee ready for when they’ve found it!

Christmas Shopping

Of course, if you’re really not sure what style of engagement ring your partner would like, why not take them Christmas shopping, and then get down on one knee outside your favourite jewellery shop?!

If you are looking for a reliable, independent jeweller in Barkingside or anywhere around this area, why not take a Christmas shopping trip to EK Jewellers nearby in Hainault? We’ll help create the perfect proposal!
