The Lowdown on Summer Jewellery Trends 2020

As the weather hots up, it’s time to start complementing our summer wardrobe with a splash of seasonal jewellery. But just what are the jewellery trends we should be following this summer? Let’s take a look.

Beside the Seaside

Beach inspired jewellery is a staple of summer jewellery collections, and this year’s Pantone colours are perfect for the Great British seaside colour palette. Scarlet, saffron, classic blue and Biscay green are all gorgeously vibrant jewel colours reminiscent of summers spent on the British coast.

Team small glass beads in these colours with summertime classic shell pieces, and you’ve got the ultimate in summer 2020 jewellery trends.

All the Colours of the Ocean

Bright colours are on-trend for summer 2020, but softer, muted tones are also popular. So if you’d rather sport something a little more subtle, then go for ocean inspired hues.

Blue, turquoise and aqua toned gemstones are all the rage this summer. Their delicate tones are matched with delicate pieces, such as small droplet earrings, and tiny charms and beads dangling from delicate chains. Remember to choose pieces which include coral shades – or ask your jeweller if they can include some coral or pink shades – for a little bit of contrast in the piece.

Chunky Chains

Chunky and statement chain necklaces are on-trend for summer 2020. Ask your jeweller in Hainault or Ilford about ready-to-wear pieces or alternatively, go a little different and ask your jeweller to create a bespoke chain or loop necklace for you.

There’s been a trend towards chain necklaces which are on a fine or delicate chain which then breaks into five or six large loops at the bottom. This makes for a real statement piece which is easier to wear than a traditional chunky chain as it can be dressed up or down with a crisp white blouse for work or a floaty maxi dress for play.
